The article summarizes the results of publication of the journal “Problems of Territory’s Development” in 2016. The author presents an analysis of the issues published in 2016, and draws special attention to their thematic orientation, the “geography” of authors, number of articles written by specialists with higher scientific qualifications. The author also analyzes the statistics of visits to the journals’ website, summarizes information about the change in the impact factor of the journal in the Russian Science Citation Index and its position in the ranking of economic journals RISC for the two-year impact factor. The article identifies the journal’s sections that contain the greatest number of articles, including the quality of life and human potential of territories; sustainable development of territories, industries and production complexes. Conclusions are made about the expansion of “geography” of the journal’s contributors (in 2016, the journal published articles by authors residing in 11 cities of Russia and in two foreign countries), a significant increase in the number of publications of candidates and doctors of science, the growing interest of Internet users to the journal’s website. In conclusion the author points out that in the coming years it is necessary to continue working on further improving the quality characteristics of the journal “Problems of Territory’s Development”, in particular, by inviting domestic and foreign scientists residing in different regions of Russia and the world to contribute their papers to the journal
