The purpose for the article is to summarize the results of the issue of the journal “Problems of Territory’s Development” in 2017 and set the objectives for its development in the near future. The author presents the analysis of issues published in 2017 with regard to their thematic scope, authors’ “geography”, number of articles by experts of higher scientific qualifications. We analyze visitor’s statistics, summarizes information about the changes in the journal’s impact factor in the Russian Science Citation Index (RINTs) List of Publications and its position in the ranking of RINTs economic journals for the two-year impact factor. We identified the most extensive sections, including “Quality of life and human potential of territories”; “Sustainable development of territories, industries and industrial complexes”. Conclusions are made about the expansion of authors’ “geography” (in 2017, the journal published articles by authors from 7 Russian Federal districts and 2 foreign countries), the remained high level of the number of publications of candidates and doctors of science. We mark the journal’s significant improvement in the ranking of RINTs economic journals (25th position out of 396). The author presents the results of a questionnaire survey of readers conducted at the end of 2017. In conclusion, we note the need to continue work on further improvement of qualitative characteristics of the journal “Problems of Territory’s Development” in the near future, in particular by attracting relevant domestic and foreign scholars residing in different regions of Russia and abroad
