Specifics of present-day life of small-numbered peoples in the North of the Kola Peninsula (case study of the rural locality Krasnoshchelye)

The article presents the results of a qualitative study of peculiarities of population’s life and activities, conducted in one of the rural localities of the Kola North by the method of participant observation (using free interview and visual method). The results of the research show how the transformation of the Russian society is manifested in the life of the rural population. The study reveals the assessment of living conditions by the rural inhabitants, and the main activities that help them to survive despite the considerable reduction in production
