The article presents the analysis of the current state of the housing fund of Vologda city in the post-crisis period and considers the dynamics of indicators characterizing the formation and development of the fund. Besides, it highlights trends in the construction of various types of housing. The author analyzes statistical data on the distribution of housing stock by walling material, percentage of wear and tear, dilapidation, capital repairs, movement of the fund and housing construction. He identifies the following significant problems in the Vologda housing sector: deterioration of the housing stock, lack of timely repair of houses, reduction of expenditures on the repair rand replacement of engineering equipment, slow pace of construction of new housing, decline in housing construction by large and medium construction organizations of the city. However, the wear condition of the housing stock is currently satisfactory. In the final part of the article, the author makes conclusions and suggestions concerning the improvement of the monitoring of the situation with deteriorated housing. He gives a brief description of a newly developed general plan for housing construction in Vologda city; in addition, the author highlights the main activities of the general plan aimed at maintaining the multistorey residential buildings, indicates that it is expedient to including the repair and replacement of building structures in the plan
