The paper presents theoretical and methodological prerequisites, methodological features and results of empirical research of cooperative-network interactions of organizations of production sphere in the context of the region’s socio-economic development (case study of Altai Krai). The significance of the research lies in the development and validation of methodology and the increase in knowledge about the nature of cooperation and network interactions of enterprises as a factor in the development of the regional economy, as well as about the region as an environment for the development of cooperation. The novelty of the study lies in the integrated approach, manifested in the assessment of the mutual influence of the whole variety of cooperative and network relations of organizations of the production sphere, on the one hand, and the development of the region’s economy, on the other. The empirical basis is formed by the results of a sample survey of managers of about a thousand enterprises conducted in 2022. We present the specifics of Altai Krai, characterized by lagging behind Russia and the Siberian Federal District in a number of key economic indicators, relatively low competitiveness of business structures, etc. We have revealed a wide range and significant scale of economic and social effects of the influence of intra- and interregional, as well as international cooperative-network interactions of enterprises on the regional development: increased sustainability and reduction of economic risks in the development of the production sphere, dissemination of efficient production and management technologies, increased investment in social and engineering infrastructure facilities, and improved personnel skills. Among the prerequisites for further development of cooperation in the region are the location of large-scale production facilities, the formation of technologically connected systems, the development of transportation and logistics infrastructure. We identify the barriers to the development of cooperation in the region, the main of which are the problems of staffing and financial shortage, insufficient development of cooperation support infrastructure. We assess the impact of sectoral specifics of the regional economy on the development of cooperation. The prospects of the work are related to the panel study, which allows evaluating in more detail and in dynamics the features of mutual influence of cooperation-network interactions and economic development of the region using the methods of studying individual cases and modeling
