Sukhomirov G.I. Technological modernization of the Far East agriculture. Problems of Territory's Development, 2014, no. 5 (73)

Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
The Far East agriculture is characterized by ineffective use of water, labor and other natural resources and obsolete means of production. Therefore, it needs technological modernization which involves continuous scientific and technological progress, adoption of domestic and world advanced experiences in the agricultural production. It is necessary to use competitive advantages of land-extensive type of farming in the Far East, ensuring environmentally friendly production (which volumes are limited around the world) and investment income from realization of naturally-produced goods. It is possible and necessary to improve soils by biological measures, observe rational crop rotations in particular, use green manure crops on fields and develop land reclamation and other effective technologies, leading to the model of ecological agriculture. It is necessary to carry out the work on improvement of plants and animals at the genetic level in order to increase their qualitative characteristics. One should implement information technologies called “exact agriculture” in the regional agriculture that assume differentiated use of resources on different sites of the field. Due to the continued “transfer” of financial means from agricultural enterprises to other branches of economy the agriculture loses an economic opportunity to carry out technological modernization of the enterprises. The last is possible only at sharp increase in the state support of agricultural producers, decrease in the tariffs of natural monopolies, reduction of tax loading, “clearance” of agricultural products from unreasonable “markups” of numerous intermediaries
