Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
Fishing is one of the main specializations of the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia. Russia is one of the world leaders in fishing, but despite it, in this industry, especially in the Far East, there are many problems due to the environment, the depletion of aquatic biological resources, the obsolescence of fishing fleet and infrastructure. In this regard, the Government of the Russian Federation is taking new measures to support the industry, as well as analyzing foreign experience. The purpose of the research is to identify cross-country features in the field of state regulation of developing fisheries complex of the Asia-Pacific region in the case of the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Japan and to determine the prospects for using foreign experience in the Far Eastern Federal District. The scientific novelty of the article consists in summarizing the best foreign experience in the development of fishing industry and identifying ways to improve its state management in the Far Eastern Federal District. The practical significance of this work is in the possibility to use the results of foreign experience analysis in the development of fishing industry in the activities of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in development of domestic measures to support fishing industry and to assess the effectiveness of implemented measures. Through the application of the comparative method, methods of synthesis and analysis, the authors consider the main approaches used by the states of the Northeast Asia to promote development of fisheries and fish farming. The paper concludes that China, the Republic of Korea and Japan ensure the comprehensive development of fisheries and fish farming including measures aimed at modernizing the fishing fleet and reducing sea pollution, increasing aquaculture stability and switching to it from fishing, promoting national fish and water products to domestic and foreign markets, and preserving jobs in coastal villages and towns. We confirm that the policy cornerstone of the Northeast Asian states is to support aquaculture production. It is also important to study and implement foreign experience in accounting for fish products. This step will stimulate the improvement of product quality and help promote it to foreign markets. The next support area for fisheries is modernization of the logistics infrastructure of fishing ports which can also be used in the Russian Far East
