The possibility of implementing strategic priorities in regional development and the intensification of export activities in high-tech sectors are necessary conditions for the country’s successful development, solving economic problems within the framework of the national projects “Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative” and “International cooperation and export in industry”, adopted at the end of December 2018. First of all, a correct and well-organized process of managing export activities in the direction of the high-tech segment at the regional level is required. One of the main elements in the management process will be the assessment of high-tech exports, which will allow establishing the presence and degree of manifestation of a particular characteristic, trends occurring in the development of regional export activities. In this regard, the purpose of the work is to determine the trajectory of high-tech exports in Russia’s regions and to work out proposals for its development. The article presents the research results of high-tech exports in the territorial aspect. We have studied and substantiated the role of high-tech product export in the territory’s economic development. We consider the main commodity positions of Russian exports. As a result of the scientific literature analysis, the paper highlights the characteristics of the importance of developing high-tech product export for the economy. We have revealed geographical trends in high-tech product export in global comparison. We show the trends of the high-tech export trajectory of the entities of the Russian Federation for 2019, broken down by product types. We have carried out the analysis of the structure of Russian high-tech product export. We have implemented a detailed analysis of the state of export activity in the sector of high-tech products among the main entities of the Russian Federation in terms of the value of supplies to the world market. We have worked out proposals for the development of the regions’ high-tech exports. Conclusions are drawn about the importance of high-tech exports as a potential for the regions’ economic development
