The article deals with the issues of the effectiveness increase in the enterprise management system through the informatization and automation of administrative processes. The author has characterized the current state of the enterprise management systems, he has conducted the comparative analysis of functional and process approaches to the formation of management systems. The article has revealed the advantages of the process approach in terms of informatization of business processes in the management of organization. It has found out the interrelation between the introduction of a process approach and the need for informatization of the enterprise management system that provides its information support. It is proposed to use a model of the system for the management of business processes in serviceoriented architecture based on the use of the process approach
